What This Calculator Measures
The calculation is 1 MET × body weight in kilograms × time in hours, equivalent to weight × minutes ÷ 60. A 70 kg person over 30 minutes would receive a 35 kcal standardized reference.

Why Sauna Calorie Numbers Are Uncertain
Heat can change circulation, heart rate, sweating, hydration, and how demanding a session feels. Those responses do not establish a universal sauna MET value or a reliable temperature-to-calorie formula. Do not use sweat volume, sauna type, humidity, temperature, or heart rate to manufacture a precise result.
A sauna should not replace walking, running, cycling, strength training, nutrition, or medical care. A lower-confidence calorie estimate should never be used to extend a session or chase a target.
Water Weight Is Not Fat Loss
A lower scale reading after heat exposure is mainly a short-term fluid-related change. It is not evidence that the same amount of body fat disappeared. Rehydration commonly changes the reading again.
